It’s all fun and games until…

It’s all fun and games until you actually are working with photography – after a family photo shoot on Friday evening, Saturday morning, then two more on Sunday (Christmas/holiday seasonal portrait work is underway), on top of the regular full time IT job, I got my first taste of a 7 day work week in quite some time.  While the thrill and passion for photography is there, putting yourself out there as worthy of getting paid for the skills you have is another thing altogether.

Don’t get me wrong – I still love photography, and the rush and excitement in seeing everyone “ooooh” and “ahhh” at their family pictures is awesome.  The feeling of satisfaction from seeing someone nod appreciatively is indescribable.  Nonetheless, after the adrenaline drains away from the high of being engaged and interacting at 100% levels for 7 days straight, the body tends to say “NO!” much sooner than one would anticipate.  So, in lieu of a major review of the latest photography here here today, this is just a teaser for what is coming up here.

Review of the Sigma 50mm 1.4
Review of the Rayflash from ExpoImaging
Review of the ExpoDisc from ExpoImaging
Podcast #32
October Newsletter

Dates are still up in the air, but we could have a pretty awesome interview for the next podcast – still waiting to hear back from *ahem* them before I make any premature announcements here.  However, for now, the body needs a break.  In the meantime, if you have any ideas for other hardware items, software items you’d like reviewed, by all means share them here on the blog, or with me via email.  Last but not least, we are in the final week of the October giveaway, where the winner will walk away with a copy of the popular Noise Ninja software from the good folks over at PictureCode.  Share your “Fall” themed photos in the Flickr thread for a shot at this really cool software.  Happy shooting all, and we’ll catch you here tomorrow with the latest news and photo goodness!
